Our identity; our aspirations

Our mission

Our mission is to offer patients with prostate cancer the best possible treatment while preserving their quality of life as far as possible.

In addition to medical excellence, cutting-edge research insights and outstanding care, our clinic and staff also offer guests comfortable accommodation and attentive service. This helps to accelerate their recovery and help our guests put the stresses of their illness behind them.

The founders of the Martini-Klinik laid the first stone in 2005 with the ambition of creating a centre of excellence for treating patients with prostate cancer and have supported decisive advances in cancer research through extensive data collection since 1992. Networking and collaboration with specialists in other related disciplines at the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) has always been a key focus. Working together, we have applied research outcomes to produce numerous innovations, thereby improving and expanding the diagnostic and treatment methods for prostate carcinoma to promote patient wellbeing.

Our vision

We want our daily work and research activities to contribute to extending disease-specific survival and improving post-operative quality of life. We are committed to helping the surgical techniques developed at the Martini-Klinik become established around the world, in order to help preserve the continence and potency of as many patients as possible.

Early diagnosis is a crucial factor in this. We also pay special attention to early diagnosis in order to optimise the sensitivity and specificity of our diagnostic techniques.
