- Since 1999 Employed at the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), with clinical and scientific focus on urological oncology, including the diagnosis and treatment of prostate carcinoma
- Since 2003 Urology specialist at UKE
- 2004 German Research Foundation scholar with one-year research stay at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, USA
- 2006 Habilitation in Urology, topic: “Molecular markers for the diagnosis and prognostic stratification of localised prostate carcinoma”
- 2007 Consultant in urology and paediatric urology at UKE
- 2009 Consultant, member of the Martini-Klinik faculty
- 2009 Additional specialist title awarded in the field of drug therapy for tumour diseases
- Leader of the special consultation clinic for the treatment of advanced prostate carcinoma
- Surgical specialism: Open and robotic-assisted, nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy, plus brachytherapy of prostate carcinoma using afterloading and seed techniques
